The recipient of our Certificate Program in Computer Information Systems shall be capable of working systems used daily in offices and at home. Throughout this course, emphasis is given on hands-on exercises and projects. No prior programming experience is assumed. This course gives students extensive experience in creating their own Java applications and applets. A lot of stress is given on Object Oriented Programming concepts and their real life implementation in Java.
The recipient of this certificate will be able to write program instructions for modification or enhancement to the systems, and make new codes, test programs, menus, and user interfaces, and report the writing capability of the systems. She / he will be able to install new programs into data base systems, test them and write fresh code for the programs.
The recipient of this certificate will be able to perform analysis of existing systems and recommend solutions. He/she will perform feasibility studies of existing systems provided with recommendations, as well as design new systems. He/she will be able to act as a liaison officer with the technical team and non-technical staff, check the overall system and monitor the performance and efficiency of the system. He/she will be able to be in charge of the migration of the manual systems into the automated systems, perform data gathering, and design the user interface. He/she will also be capable of interviewing the end user about the systems and help them to use the systems as efficiently as possible.
